“It is my sincere hope that my paintings will touch your life in a way that brings you closer to a realization of God and His marvelous creations.  What you will see are works of art that have been inspired by impressions God has put in my minds eye.  From a farmer praying for rain, a lost lamb, to the rapture of God’s people, each tell a story of how God can and does work in the lives of believers and non-believers.” ......Sheree Moates

The simple subjects, such as a small sparrow in God’s hand, have touched the lives of many collectors of Sheree Moates’ paintings.  Many of her prints have been given as gifts to people going through their fight with cancer, the loss of loved ones, the strife of dealing with rebellious children, and the every day struggles of life itself.  Sheree has received hundreds of thank yous from people she does not even know of how these inspirational works have touched and made a difference in their lives.

From Sheree’s first box of crayon’s and her mother enrolling her in children’s workshops on university campuses, she developed a love for color and creativity.  After marrying her high school sweetheart, she continued her interest studying at workshops and receiving her associates degree in art.  A turning point in her education came when she was chosen to study with renowned Texas artist, Dalhardt Windberg.  Questions that had not been answered for her,  were now being answered by Mr. Windberg as he opened another level in her education.

Although the inspirational art is her main focus, Sheree also enjoys painting nature and florals from God’s handiwork.  Sheree works in several art mediums including prismacolors, watercolors, and pastels with oils being her primary medium.  She feels the subject dictates it’s own medium and she does not want to limit herself or God.  This brings a wide variety to her paintings and especially to the collectors of her work.

Sheree and her husband Mike live on a farm & ranch in West Texas, where she owns and operates her own gallery called Displays of Splendor in Big Spring.  Sheree and Mike have 2 grown daughters who she says are her best critics.  She also teaches children’s art and adult workshops at her gallery.

Each painting bears a scripture from the Bible and several have stories behind them that are also sent with the purchase of her prints.  Sheree’s love for God, His creation and family are seen through her works and stories.  She is also available to speak to civic clubs, women’s groups and churches.  Although speaking was not in her plan it was in God’s.  She has touched many people at her speaking engagements, where she displays the paintings and tells the stories that go with them.

Sheree adds, “My prayer has always been that God would use me to make a difference in people’s lives.  I am so glad that God took me from crayon’s to paint with His hand guiding my every stroke.  I hope my paintings will inspire you to let God make a masterpiece of your life."
