I
know that one day I will participate in the time in history this
painting represents. I believe it won’t be long until He comes
for us. I hope you are prepared to meet the Lord face to face.
Be sure to look closely at this painting for it represents a number
of things. The hem of Jesus’ robe in the clouds forms the top
of this painting. There are twelve figures in the clouds,
representing the twelve tribes of Israel. These figures have
no facial features because each one will see different friends and
loved ones when they reach this point. The painting fades from
light at the top to dark at the bottom to illustrate our leaving the
darkness of this world and entering into the light of Jesus.
The clouds in the bottom corners form two angels blowing the last
trumpets to sound His coming. Last and most importantly, for
us to be witnesses of His coming, we must meet Jesus at the cross
and ask Him to forgive us of our sins, believe in our heart that He
is the only one who can save us, and ask Him to come into our hearts
and be the Lord of our life. This is reflected by the sparkles
in His robe that forms twelve crosses.
When I first presented a talk about three of my paintings
in church, a man came up to talk to me at the end of my
presentation. He said, “There is another angel in this painting. I
can see it from the back of the church.” I was surprised because I
had only painted two angels. He pointed it out to me and I saw it
immediately. It is the shape of a child’s face. Another women
shared with me that she felt it represented all the babies who died
or had been aborted.
It continues to amaze me what
people see in this painting and how my paintings touch people’s
lives. See if you see this baby angel’s face. (P.S. it
is right above the angel on the right.) Maybe God will show
you and you will see the most important message of this painting
which is that we all need a relationship with Jesus to be able to be
Caught Up Together with Him one day.
I Thessalonians 4:16-18 says, “For the Lord Himself will
come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the
archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ
will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left
will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord
in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore,
encourage each other with these words.” If you have a relationship
with Jesus, be encouraged. If you don’t have that relationship,
please be encouraged by this painting to have that relationship with
Jesus and ask Him into your heart today. |
